Celebrate A Family Friendly Valentine (Free Printable Included)
Been looking for some family friendly ideas for Valentine’s Day?
Fun With A Message shares some easy ideas to celebrate and create a new family tradition for Valentines.
See the end of our post for instructions on how to download.
Creating Meaningful Memories on Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day has changed a lot! It seems to be full of non-kid friendly ads and non-family friendly messages. Of course, it is nice to celebrate our spouse on a special day. 🙂
TV and internet ads picture love as only romance. Romance has its time and place but Love is so much more!
Kid Friendly Ideas For Valentines
At Fun With A Message our goal is to preserve the childhood innocence of children as long as possible. With that in mind, we share some ideas to help families create meaningful memories and teach kids what love truly is. As our gift to you, we created the I Love My Family Valentines Pack printable that will help put those into practice.
SPEAK LOVE ONE TO ANOTHER
As a family, use the theme of the Holiday to uplift and encourage each other. Words of affirmation will do wonders for your kids and your spouse. Take some time to write and share what you appreciate most about the other members of the family.
Encourage and help you kids write some simple phrases or qualities about mom, dad, and siblings. Then share before or after dinner time.
The ‘I Love My Family’ Printable includes some blank tags to write encouraging words or simply cut out and share the “I Love Your…..” tags. Maybe include them in their lunch box or place them on their seat at the table.
They will brighten up your kids day for sure!

GIVE TO ONE ANOTHER
Encourage your kids to think of small things they can make or buy at the dollar store with their allowance and give to each other and to mom and dad. Even simple things as gifting a drawing (for preschoolers) or making a Valentine’s Day card will help them (and us) think of others.
There are tons of Kid-friendly Valentine’s Day crafts out there. You can also check out our Pinterest Boards for ideas.
Besides crafts, we like to give our family a little something on Valentine’s. Baking with the kids is always fun although messy. But, they love contributing to the family celebration!
The ‘I Love My Family’ Printable includes some I Love You tags you can include with little gifts or even use them as cupcake or muffin toppers. There are one for each member of the family and some blank ones as well to make sure no one is left out.
TEACH THEM ABOUT TRUE LOVE
Valentine’s Day is About Love
What is Love?
Fun With A Message started this season with a Gift of Love giveaway entitled Love Never Fails . The phrase Love Never Fails seems to answer that question. You could also word it as Love Never Ends.
With that inspiration, we created some Love tags as our part of our gift to you and your families. Each one describes one characteristic of Love. You can cut them out and hand them out to your kids or you could use them as a fun memorization game. A great way to teach kids what Love really is.
Keep on creating meaningful memories with your family on Valentine’s Day.
Would love to hear what traditions you have created for your family! 🙂
