Integrated STEAM + Social Sciences Unit Studies

- Art+ is an interactive and integrated STEAM & Social Sciences curriculum.
- Its main focus is teaching PROBLEM SOLVING and CRITICAL THINKING skills using art and engineering projects.
- These projects include elements of History and Geography.

Interactive Curriculum
ART+ uses hands on projects in art and engineering to help students develop problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Confidence Building Curriculum
Since students only have to complete quick hands-on projects the curriculum lends itself to building confidence in kids. After completion of the project, students will feel accomplished for reaching a goal or solving a problem. All the while, learning some pretty important skills in critical thinking plus learning about engineering, art and becoming acquainted with world events and historical places.
Will these projects take too much time ? Not at all! These hands on projects are relatively quick. If you need to break, not a problem, the projects can be completed in different sessions. The curriculum guides the child step by step and only uses common household supplies.
Practical Skills For Future Success
Our curriculum is built to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills using hands on projects. Problem solving and critical thinking is the ability to use knowledge, facts, or data to solve problems successfully.
These two sets of skills are critical to any field of study or profession. If students develop these skills early on, most likely they will succeed in any career they choose.

Integrating STEAM with History and Geography
As in our other Unit Studies, we believe no subject should be studied in isolation. Art+ includes prompts and questions to motivate students to research important world events related to the build or concurrent to the time period or location in focus.
The Art+ Unit Studies are aimed at third grade on up. However, kids of any age can participate in most of the builds.
No Expensive Kits To Buy – Common Household Supplies Only
Projects detailed in the Unit Studies will mostly require common household items. No expensive supplies or kits to buy. Some of the materials we use are:
- Cardboard
- Glue or tape
- Blocks and other building materials
- Packing peanuts
Each unit will specify what supplies are needed so you have everything on hand before starting the unit.
